1.I watched, “Health Insurance Explained: YouToons Have it Covered” on The Henry J. Kaiser Family foundation Website. I found the video to be very informative and the delivery was easy to follow if a person does not know about the health insurance plans.
The information that I knew was the different type of medical plans that are offer to the public, Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plan the patient can only see a person in their provider network and needs a referral to see a specialist. A Provider Preferred Organization PPO) Network gives the patient more of a flexibility to see in network and out of network providers. The patient would have more responsiblity if seen an out of network provider. The Market Place Insurance insurance is shared premium with the patient the governnment helps pay for the premium based on income. Lastly, State Insurance, Medicaid is the patient has to qualify by income and the services are mostly covered at 100% due to being low income. Medicare insurance their are several options. A Medicare Supplemental Insurance which the patient pays premiums to the insurance. The services are comparable to Medicare some offer more benefits on the plan, Traditional Medicare Part A covers the hopsital visits, the patients has a set premium each month to pay it is based on the patient’s income amount. Medicare Part B covers the doctors visits. Medicare Part D is for Prescriptions Services.
One thing that I have noticed since the affordable care act has been signed into law is the cost the health care services has gone up drastically. I remember at one time paying for Health Insurance, Dental, & Vision and paying $200.00. a month to my employer. The out of poclet at the doctor’s office was $25 for an office visit, an inpatient stay was covered at 100%. The insurance plans now being offered at work is applied to deductible, a percentage for each visit no copay amount is an option. Boy has the time has changed. Class, have you noticed a change in your benefit options being offered today vs before affordable care act was signed into law?
2.I liked the video, it was exceptionally useful with regards to clarifying the various kinds of medical coverage and what is covered/paid for and not covered/not paid for. I realize that when you have Medicare a ton of things are paid, yet then you would need to various kinds of protection with the goal that all your medication is secured. Private protection needs to various choices like HMO or PPO. HMO signifies the “Health Maintenance Organization.” HMO plans offer a wide scope of social insurance benefits through a system of suppliers who consent to supply administrations to individuals. With an HMO you’ll likely have inclusion for a more extensive scope of preventive social insurance administrations than you would through another kind of plan. PPO designs, or “Favored Provider Organization” plans, are one of the most well-known sorts of plans in the Individual and Family advertise. PPO plans enable you to visit whatever in-organize doctor or medicinal services supplier you wish without first requiring a referral from a primary care doctor.
An HMO gives you access to specific specialists and emergency clinics inside its system. A system is comprised of providers that have consented to bring down their rates for plan individuals and furthermore fulfill quality guidelines. In any case, not at all like PPO plans, care under an HMO plan is secured just on the off chance that you see a supplier inside that HMO’s system. Likewise, Private health care or private medication is health care and drug given by elements other than the legislature. Moral issues identifying with private health insurance fundamentally concerns the contention that the truly seriously ill be entitled to spend money on saving their lives.
